We had a wonderful week at Carters Rest. Seagulls Nest is just lovely. Comfy bed, great weather, fantastic scenery, very nice welcome pack (breakfast for the following day) and in fact everything we needed for a great self catering holiday. Even loved your chickens who would insist on coming in through the gate whenever I opened it! Keep up the excellent work!

After being up high in the Sky(e) are we now back in Denmark after a wonderful holyday in Scotland. Itīs a very beautiful country.
It is hard to adapt to daily life again but we have a lot of beautiful memories to think of.
You have a great place up on the Skye and we are happy that we have met you. You made us feel welcome from the very first moment we entered Carters Rest.
The way you mailed and asked us what we would like to have for dinner impressed us and made us certain that we were right in choosing Carters Rest.
Your kindness - and cooking proved us right.
Your dream of running a small guesthouse in Scotland has come true and we believe that you now - in the real world - have what it takes to make a success of it.

Thanks for a wonderful 3 days. We thoroughly enjoyed staying at Carter's Rest, not just because of the beautiful accommodations, the stunning location or the wonderful food, but also because the two of you make it feel like home.
The World Cup match was icing on the cake. :-)

This was our second visit, but the first time since Julie and Steve have taken over. Carters Rest is in VERY safe hands. They are lovely enthuiastic attentive people who work so hard to make you comfortable. Steve feels like your best mate and Julie really can cook.....we had venison. It was the stuff of legends. We haven't had better in Michelin Star restaurants. We can't wait to go again. This is a very special place run by very special people.

A wonderful place to stay. The rooms are modern, the facilites excellent and the hosts extremely accommodating. What is more, Steve and Julie recommended the walk to Neist point, which rather unexpectedly became the place Helen and I got engaged! The pictures on the website do not do the location justice, a truly tranquil setting and homely B&B with a warm welcome - we ended up booking Carters Rest a bit last minute,and were lucky to get a room, but we will be back without a doubt.
As perfect as you could hope a B&B to be

We highly recommend this fantastic place to stay, thank you Julie and Steve for your warm welcome, great hospitality, great breakfasts and the lovely meal we had. The views from the dining room are spectacular and the hens are hilarious. This is the perfect get away from the rat race. It's the best place to stay on Skye, you won't find service like this anywhere else. Can't wait to come back.

Definitely recommended. Steve & Julie went out of their way to make us welcome and the self-catering accomodation is spacious, clean and comfortable.
Great location for geting away from it all, with the added bonus of lambs bounding around the place if you are there in spring..

We had been planning the trip to Isle of Skye since last 2 years now and we finally were able to make it this Easter Break.
Twice I had booked our rooms at the Carter's rest but for some or the other reason we couldnt make it till now.
Our stay at the Rest was in simple words was simply Awesome!!! We had a splendid time there....the ambience around the place, the location, the rooms, everything simply just perfect for an ideal get away holiday.
Needless to say....we are going to be there again, and this time it will be for a longer duration.
Julie & Steve...Thank you so very much for the lovely stay!!! This was probably one of the best get away holiday we had so far this year....will be back again!

My wife and I stayed at Carters Rest back in Feb 2010 during a delightful visit to the highlands. We both highly recommend Carters, the hospitality was first class and they are located in an excellent spot with great views of the bay. Highly recommend you visit Three Chimneys restaurant and the Talisker whiskey distillery, both near by. Would be more than happy to stay here again if we are up that part of the world.

We had a really great time at the Carters Rest.
During our short stay we have celebrated a 30th birthday as well as our engagement. We couldnīt have spent the time somewhereelse more valuable or intense than at this place.
We can just recommend the Carters Rest to everybody who likes to spend a graet time with very nice people.
For shure, weīll be back....;-)
