The location is breathtaking and the service and meals was just out of this world. One of the best weekends i have spent anywhere. The room was fantastic and your advice of where to go and see was second to none.

We absolutely LOVED our stay and I ended up making my wedding proposal just over the hill at Niest Point Lighthouse!
Skye is really someplace special and our hosts were above our expectations as well as the accomodations!

We stayed for a week in the self catering annex, which was comfy, very well equipped to sleep, cook/eat, relax and a base from which to explore this lovely island, or some of it at least. Betty and Freddy's hospitality is a delight, including a gratis supply of their own fresh eggs - delicious, and happiness to return the things we left! The internet access is a first for us, and a great help in researching further the things we had seen on the island. All in all, for a well supported base to explore a wild and lovely part of the country, it's difficult to beat.

we chose carters rest because it was in such a beautiful location of skye - the duirinish peninsula. we thoroughly enjoyed exploring this region (it was our second visit to the isle), with its cliffs and headlands and variety of hikes and walks right out the front door! our accommodations were very comfortable - loved having the internet right in our room! betty and freddie are gracious hosts and we would certainly recommend their lovely b&b to our american friends.

Late guest book entry! We stayed at the cottage mid-August, Fred and Betty's hospitality is second to none. Fred answered all our questions, even regarding the can opener! Our newly invented 'roadside sheep count' kept us amused on all our journeys! We had wonderful weather, views, food and walks. It really was well worth the journey and we would love to return one day.

We stayed in the guesthouse on the first of October 2007, it was perfect!!Betty and Fred,thank you for your hospitality and warm welcome. Everything was OK, the location, the room, the food, the views..... 10 out of 10.
