We had a really great time at the Carters Rest.
During our short stay we have celebrated a 30th birthday as well as our engagement. We couldnŽt have spent the time somewhereelse more valuable or intense than at this place.
We can just recommend the Carters Rest to everybody who likes to spend a graet time with very nice people.
For shure, weŽll be back....;-)

My wife and I spent a memorable day at Carter's Rest on a stopover during a tour of Scotland. Carter's rest is situated on the west coast of the Isle of Skye in beautiful cove looking out over a bay with stunning views of cliffs across the landscape. The Carter's maintain a hospital B&B and are warm and attentive hosts. Driving to their home is an experience on a one lane road with pull-over areas to negotiate on-coming traffic. Don't pass up the opportunity to take an early morning or evening walk in one of the most beautiful surroundings anywhere in the world. Remarkably, in this remote enclave we had dinner at a five-star restaurant, "Three Chimney's" which is about a ten minute drive. If youre traveling at night, best hire a taxi whose drivers are experienced with the treacherous roads in the dark. If you travel to Scotland I strongly recommend visiting the Isle of Skye and spending a night at Carter's Rest.

Hi Betty & Fred, Thanks for the great hospitality, laughter, great food,especially Wed night dinner,breaky everyday wasnt bad either. Your choice of wine was great and most enjoyable (the jury i still out on the beer). Rooms were really comfortable and the best beds we have had all trip. I don't know how you picked the location to build but the view is fantastic. Mum is still talking about her stay and says thanks to freddie for using his brownie points up with the wether, it was great.

We spent another wonderful week at Carters Rest in June. The weather was glorious, highlighting the dramatic beauty of the north-west of Skye. Carters Rest is stunning in its location and is perfect for a totally restful break. Important as all these are, it is the personal hospitality and sensitivity to guests' needs shown by the proprietors, Freddy and Betty, which make a visit to Carters Rest such a memorable experience. A key part of their hospitality is the superb cuisine. Night after night Freddy produced mouth-watering dishes. Another major feature of our enjoyment was always to return from a day out and find our room pristine.
Both our visits have been so delightful that we look forward to another!

Eventhough we have stayed at Carters Rest in previous years, it never ceases to amaze us how much Betty and Freddie care for their guests. We travel to Scotland every year and always book our stay at Carters Rest first and then plan everything else around those booking dates. They are wonderful hosts and have become good friends. You must make your way up to Milovaig and see for yourselves.

We stayed here for four days and it's been a fantastic time. Though the weather has been "skye-ish", we've done a lot of walking. Also worth a visit are nearby attractions like Dunvegan Castle with its beautiful gardens, Portree (to buy some souvenirs) or Talisker Distillery (to buy some more). The guesthouse is of superb quality, the rooms are very clean, large and have all amenities you could wish. Betty and Freddie are simply wonderful as are the meals they provide. We wish them all the best and hope to see them as our hosts once more someday.

Just had two brilliant weeks in "Seagulls Nest" at Carters ~ Freddy & Bet are simply the best ~ the location is fantastic, the food is absolutely great and the hospitality is second to none ~ and just to add to this wonderful holiday the weather has been glorious. Take our word for it there's no better place on Skye.
